Q: I'm making money on this, how can it be a scam?

Last week we answered the question what a scam is and why you should care. Specifically how the bad guys can fool you out of your information or money. However, there are other devious ways criminals can use you. One scam is called Money Mules. Criminals advertise what appears to be legitimate business offers, often through email. Usually they ask you to setup a bank account and help transfer funds with you getting a percentage. It may sound like a legitimate way to make money but it's not. In reality it's a scam, you would be working for organized crime helping them transfer stolen money to countries most likely based in Eastern Europe. In the end the criminals are simply using you. If law enforcement were to track down the stolen money they would track it down to you. Don't fall for such scams, not only could you lose money you could be breaking the law.
